Vmware Certification VCAP DCD 410: Passed (Thanks to...)

Hello all,
After Vmworld Europe 2011 I had to stop for a while blogging due to work at customers sites and to study overnight for VCAP-DCD exam.

Now that I've passed the test I would like to share the experience with anyone interested in taking this certification (a lot of other blogger do the same and no great news will spring out from this article),

  • - primary source of information is the Exam Blueprint: if you don't cover the whole subjects included in the blueprint then do not take the exam
  • - VMTN communities and virtualizzation blogs are your friend: keep reading
  • - build your own home lab if you cannot play at work with a test environment: trial versions of Vmware products are the way to follow along with OpenFiler and/or Celerra VA
  • - Have a look at least once at the Exam UI Demo

I would like to shout a big "thank you!" to Forbes, Scott Maish, Duncan, Frank and David. Who they are? read below...

To pass the test I've done all the things in the above list BUT I add some ebooks and online training course:

first of all, "VMware vSphere design" written by Forbes Guthrie, Scott Lowe and Maish Saidel-Keesing

then I read vSphere 4.1 HA and DRS Technical Deepdive by Duncan Epping and Frank Denneman.

Last but not least i follow some of the VmWare course on Trainsignal site (Instructor David Davis)

Final hints: ask the test center to provide you with the larger monitor they have...
